Environmental responsibility is an important part of Laitex’s operations, and we have already switched to green district heating and carbon-neutral electricity. The next major step in reducing our carbon footprint is to reduce the emissions of our vehicle fleet. To achieve this goal, we have decided to switch to renewable biodiesel in our diesel-powered vehicles.

Why is the change important?
Transport emissions make up a significant part of total emissions worldwide. In 2024, we used approximately 25 m³ of diesel, which shows that our fuel choices have a significant impact. Replacing traditional fossil diesel with a renewable alternative is one of the most effective ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from transport.
Renewable biodiesel is produced from sustainable raw materials, such as waste and residual oils, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional diesel. It can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% over its life cycle compared to fossil diesel.
How does this affect our operations?
By switching to renewable biodiesel, we can significantly reduce the environmental impact of our fleet without major investments or changes to our fleet. Renewable biodiesel is suitable for use as is in existing diesel engines, making the transition smooth and cost-effective.
Environmental responsibility is not just a goal for the future – it is actions we can take today. By switching to renewable biodiesel, we are taking a concrete step towards a more sustainable and cleaner tomorrow.
Flow Must Go On, but with a smaller carbon footprint.
