Joensuu overview
The full scope turnkey solution to Joensuu, Finland included a complete cement handling system from ship to trucks. The solution is part of the cement supply chain from abroad to plants in the Savo and Karelia regions.
Laitex delivered a ship unloading system and a truck uploading system as well as electrification, automation, erection and commissioning for the cement terminal.
Solution for cement terminal
Cement is a highly dusty material that requires specially designed equipment to handle the material. Therefore, the project emphasized impermeable material handling equipment and precise implementation for dust control. The delivered solution automates the cement supply chain from ships to trucks.
Increased capacity
Laitex designed, manufactured, delivered, and erected the system for handling cement. Ship unloading system is designed to unload cement 400 tons per hour and truck uploading system 150 tons per hour. Full knowledge of the material was key to a successful project execution.
With the renovated cement terminal, import capacity was increased significantly.
