Project Overview
Laitex successfully delivered a comprehensive material handling solution to Outokumpu’s biocoke pelletizing plant in Tornio. We are proud to have played a key role in supporting Outokumpu’s strategy to strengthen its leadership in sustainability in stainless-steel production. As a key technology partner, Laitex designed and implemented a fully integrated bulk material handling chain tailored to the specific requirements of biocoke processing.

Our delivery covered the entire flow, from raw material intake to end-product handling. The scope included material receiving systems, quality control equipment, silo and storage solutions, pneumatic truck unloading lines, and end-product loading systems. Together, these solutions ensure efficient, reliable, and continuous material flow throughout the pelletizing process. The project is part of Outokumpu’s long-term strategy to strengthen its leadership in sustainability by securing access to high-quality raw materials.
